Level 1 consists of an Introduction to the program and the
Pre-Employment Floorman (Roughneck) Training Program , Level ll covers
Introduction to the drilling industry, Level lll covers scheduled
drilling operations and Level lV covers advanced drilling operations. The certificate
of completion in Advanced Drilling Technology Program encompasses an in depth knowledge of the drilling industry. The text is intended for industry and college-level petroleum technology students. Therefore, we are presenting the information on a more advanced level.
Each Level must be completed within a six month period, but the entire 3
level program must be completed within a five -year period.
Prerequisites are a grade 12 or equivalent and students are required to have completed a Pre Employment Floorman (Roughneck) training program
Drilling Technology Level 1or equivalent oilrig experience at a
Derrickman level.
Individuals interested in this program must register by contacting contacting the administration
office.
MDS ADVANCED DRILLING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
Level l
Consists of the Pre Employment (Floorman) Roughneck
program which involves a program introductory and is the foundation for
moving into the Advanced Drilling Technology Program and therefore, acts
as the main pre-requisite for this comprehensive program.
