With increased consumption of natural gas and crude oils around the world and new developing economies like China, India, Pakistan and Korea, industry analysts anticipate major increases in the search for hydro carbon recovery.  Industries biggest asset is quality trained people. Maritime Drilling Schools Ltd. is committed to the challenge of training people globally in preparing for this present and future industry.

Maritime Drilling Schools Limited has taken the initiative to ensure training is relevant and meaningful to the drilling industry.  This Pre Employment Floorman (Roughneck) Training Program will provide students with a comprehensive training program that is tailored specifically for the drilling industry. Students will learn how to safely operate and maintain drilling equipment and the job functions that are relevant to drill floor and deck crew operations.

Students will also learn, the skills of a Roustabout and Leasehand with a high emphasis on Oilrig safety.  Please visit the rest of our website and come grow with us as we help train the general public, trades persons, university students, general laborers and men & women of all cultures for present and future oilfield jobs.  As this industry is becoming more automated and less labor intensive e.g. computer automated robotics.  Future generation rigs provide equal opportunities for men and women.

Price for oil is at its all time high creeping its way to US 150.00 per barrel with no sign of reversal, in fact it may even hit US 200.00 per barrel by the end of the year 2008.  The only answer to solve the fast pace of the rising cost is to drill more wells around the globe.

In August 2001 a study showed that over 63% of oilrig workers are late 40's and 50's. This has set off alarms, Petroleum Producers are looking at what may happen over the next 5-10 years from now as those employees begin retirement.   Operators and Drilling Contractors are looking at ways to attract new entrants to this field by holding information sessions at schools and colleges. The United States is expected to triple their consumption of Natural Gas over the next 20 years. A recent study done by the Greater Halifax Partnership with the Conference board of Canada alone, has reported in their study that by the year 2020, fifty billion dollars is expected to be spent in Nova Scotia Offshore and Onshore oil & gas industry and creating at least 57,000 jobs. Alberta is looking at over 800,000 new oil & gas jobs to be created over the next 5 -10 years. Now is the time to get trained for this aggressive developing industry!!!

After our students are given the basics of operations and skill development with high emphases on rig safety, the employer can now focus on practical training that is relevant & specific to the rig type he or she will work on.
