Terms and Conditions
Students are expected to forward $200.00 North American
students or $500.00 International students forPre
Employment Floorman (Roughneck)registration fee, $300.00
for Drilling Safety Manager/Trainer registration fee, or $500.00for
12-Month MDS Advanced Drilling Technology registration fee, preferably Visa, MasterCard,
American Express, postal or bank money order, to Maritime Drilling Schools Ltd. After this fee has been obtained, students are registered. Students must pay the balance on the first course day of the program.
Registration fees are non-refundable and will be kept as
administration fees. North American Students are to pay in
CDN currency and International Students in US currency.
A student having graduated from this program and having paid in full all fees, will receive their certificate / diploma no later than 30 days following the registered end date.
Prerequisite for Pre Employment Floorman (Roughneck) program: Minimum Grade 10 level education or mature student status and 18 years of age.
Students require a medical stating they are physically
fit to participate in the practical training provided in
this program. Students may opt out of the practical function
and continue with classroom instruction as this program will
benefit those interested in the service and supply end of
the industry. Tradesmen who want to learn more about the
industry will also benefit with this program as all
applications of the drilling processes are covered.
Prerequisite for Drilling Safety Manager/Trainer Program:
Minimum Grade 12 with a degree or technology
diploma. Persons with equivalent industrious background may
apply.
Prerequisite for MDS Advanced Drilling Technology Level I,
II, III, IV programs: Minimum Grade
12 or equivalent level education and 18 years of age. Students are
required to have completed one of the following Pre Employment Floorman
(Roughneck) training program, engineering, technology or acquired oilrig experience at a
derrickman level.
Students will receive an orientation of the school and evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency.
Students must send completed Registration / Contract and registration fee no later than one week prior to program start date.
School Rules and Policies
Rules and policies posted or orally explained are to be abided.
The student is responsible for any damages to property or suffering inflicted on persons caused by his or her
actions.
Drugs and Alcohol will not be tolerated in this
school or school property!!!
No abuse or foul language will be tolerated.
No theft to school property will be tolerated.
Smoking restrictions: Designated area only.
Students are to respect their place of stay while attending Maritime Drilling Schools Ltd.
(**Absolutely no visitors at MacDonald House unless
school is notified!!**) violation of this rule will
result in immediate dismissal!!!
Students are responsible for their own personal
items and stay at the MacDonald House at their own
risk.
Violation of any of the rules and policies may be considered grounds for immediate dismissal.
Tuition
Prices are per student unless otherwise noted. Housing
accommodations and travel are the responsibility of each student
or company. Tuition is subject to change without notice. Cancellation
policy: There is no refund after school starts and registration
fee will be kept as administrative costs.
Program Completion Requirements
As mentioned students are required to pass the required exams and achieve
a pass mark of 70%.
Copies of student certification, attendance and transcript will be filed by the school for future reference.
Absenteeism: Due to the short duration of this program, and the
sheer volume of material covered, it is essential that a strict
schedule be maintained. A student will not receive a certificate if they are absent at anytime during this program. Students will be given the opportunity to make
up for lost time during the next available scheduled course, for an
additional fee of $200.00 per day. Students must formally register
and be accepted for the next available session(s) with the fee(s)
paid in advance. A student who is absent 2 days or more must
register for the complete program in order to receive certification.
In case of sickness or an urgent private matter or other extenuating
circumstances, this fee may be waived at the discretion of Maritime
Drilling Schools Limited management. Maritime Drilling Schools
Limited reserves the right to assess this absenteeism and make final
decision concerning fees and as whether the student is permitted to
retake the program in part or in whole, and to ultimately receive
certification. Students are required to make written requests
and will be informed of the decisions in writing. In the event that
the student is not satisfied with the decision, they may make an
appeal in writing to an appeal board appointed by the school.
